Meats Quiz Bowl Team

Our Team
Since 2007, the University of Arkansas Meats Quiz Bowl Team has provided students with opportunities to develop a comprehensive understanding of meat science, from animal production through meat processing and consumer products. Through participation in the Reciprocal Meats Conference, students engage in academic competition while expanding their knowledge of the meat and livestock industries.

Over the past two decades, more than 60 students have represented the University of Arkansas on the Meats Quiz Bowl Team. These students have traveled to national competitions, participated in industry tours, and built valuable connections with leaders in the meat and livestock sectors through the Reciprocal Meat Conference.

The impact of this experience extends far beyond the competition stage. Former team members have gone on to successful careers in the meat industry, veterinary medicine, animal science academia, livestock production, and a variety of agricultural and scientific professions. Many alumni credit their involvement in Meats Quiz Bowl with helping them discover their career path, build lifelong professional networks, and find their passion within agriculture and food systems.

Our Needs
Funds will be utilized to assist with travel expenses such as hotel costs, meals, registration, and team entry fees. The Quiz Bowl competition is held with the Reciprocal Meats Conference, which is held in locations all over the country, so travel costs vary from year to year.
